Kim Martin-Cotten

Kim Martin-Cotten is Associate Artistic Director and Co-Director of the Pacific Playwrights Festival at South Coast Rep in Southern California. She is a producer, director, actor and educator. Before joining SCR three seasons ago, she held the positions of Artistic Producer and Associate Director of New Works for Kansas City Repertory Theatre. 

Prior to that, as the founding Artistic Producer of off-Broadway company Hang A Tale, she was producing in New York from 2014 through 2018, developing new work and reimagining classics. As an actor, she has performed regionally across the country and in New York, both off and on Broadway. Kim was nominated for a Drama Desk Award her performance as Josie in Moon for the Misbegotten at Pearl Theatre.

Favorite directing projects include The Dumbwaiter, Cabaret, Death of A Salesman, The Moors, Taming of the Shrew, an eight person Twelfth Night, a five person Macbeth, and a solo adaptation of Othello. In related work, she also served as Project Assistant to Anna Deavere Smith on her initial production of House Arrest; First Edition at Arena Stage, and has been a guest lecturer at Yale School of Drama.
